Veins of the hand: Dorsal view (Latin)

Veins of the hand: Dorsal view (Latin)

The vv. digitales dorsales travel along the sides of the fingers and are joined by the oblique vv. intercapitulares which collect blood from the vv. digitales palmares. The vv. digitales dorsales empty into the vv. metacarpeae dorsales which ultimately drain to the rete venosum dorsale manus. The rete venosum dorsale manus gives rise to the superficial veins of the forearm which include the v. cephalica and v. basilica.
