Trachea and bronchi (Latin)

Trachea and bronchi (Latin)

The trachea is continuous with the larynx at the inferior border of the cartilago cricoidea. Its tubular structure is maintained by 16-20 incomplete/C-shaped cartilaginous rings which comprise its anterolateral wall. These cartilages are interconnected by ligg. annularia located between the two adjacent cartilage rings. The posterior wall of the trachea is occupied by the m. trachealis. The trachea normally terminates at the level of vertebra T5 in a bifurcation giving off two bronchi principales.
