Skull bones - Inferior view (English)

Skull bones - Inferior view (English)

The temporal bones articulate with the zygomatic bones anteriorly, forming the zygomatic arches. Posterior to them is the occipital bone which occupies most of the posterior aspect on the inferior side of the cranium. The sphenoid bone can be identified centrally articulating with the maxillae and palatine bones anterior to it; these form the hard palate while the former also houses the maxillary/upper dentition.
