Shoulder joint - Anterior/posterior (Latin)

Shoulder joint - Anterior/posterior (Latin)

Three ligg. glenohumeralia (superius, medius, inferius) form as a thickening of the capsula art. glenohumeralis and connect the caput humeri to the fossa glenoidea scapulae. The lig. coracohumerale connects the processus coracoideus scapulae with the tuberculum majus humeri and reinforces the superior portion of the capsula articularis glenohumeralis. The lig. transversum humeri extends between the tuberculum minus and tuberculum majus humeri and stabilizes the tendo musculi bicipitis brachii. Lastly, the junctura is also stabilized by four musculi (m. supraspinatus, m. infraspinatus, m. teres minor and m. subscapularis [faded]) collectively known as the cuffia musculotendinea which form a musculotendinous sleeve around the junctura.
