Omental bursa (relations) (English)

Omental bursa (relations) (English)

Abdominal cavity with posterior wall of stomach reflected. Posteriorly, the stomach is related to the anterior surface of the pancreas, left kidney and suprarenal gland, splenic artery and spleen, as well as the transverse mesocolon which separates the stomach from the duodenojejunal flexure and jejunum. These organs form a shallow bed which is separated from the stomach by the omental bursa. Also visible is the celiac trunk arising the abdominal aorta, from which the right and left gastric and gastroomental arteries ultimately originate.
