The nasal cavity is innervated by 3 nerves1. Cranial nerve I – N. olfactorius2. Cranial nerve V – N. trigeminus3. Cranial nerve VII – N. facialisThe n. olfactorius carries information of smell to the brain. The n. trigeminus supplies the nasal cavity with sensation, where CN V1 (n. ophthalmicus) innervates the anterior nasal cavity and CN V2 (n. maxillaris) the posterior cavity. The n. facialis carries parasympathetic supply to nasal mucous glands.
