Mesentery (Latin)

The mesenteria include four different structures: mesentery proper (mesenterium proprium), mesoappendix, mesocolon transversum and mesocolon sigmoideum. The mesenterium proprium is the largest mesentery that wraps around the jejunum and ileum, attaching them to the paries posterior abdominis. The mesocolon transversum supports the colon transversum, attaching it to the paries posterior abdominis .The mesocolon sigmoideum provides support for the colon sigmoideum. The mesoappendix is the mesentery of the appendix vermiformis and caecum.
