Femoral artery and its branches (Latin)

Femoral artery and its branches (Latin)

The a. femoralis continues from the a. iliaca externa after it passes the lig. inguinalis. It gives off several rami, including the a. epigastrica superficialis, a. circumflexa iliaca superficialis, a. pudendalis externa superficialis, a. pudendalis externa profunda, a. profunda femoris and the a. descendens genus. The a. profunda femoris in turn gives off the a. circumflexa medialis femoris and a. circumflexa lateralis femoris as well as the aa. perforantes femoris. The a. femoralis continues into the leg as the a. poplitea.
