FDI/ISO System (deciduous teeth) (English)

FDI/ISO System (deciduous teeth) (English)

For the deciduous or primary dentition, the teeth are also divided into quadrants and the system uses a similar format as in permanent dentition. However the numbering of the quadrants changes in comparison to permanent dentition (upper right quadrant = 5, upper left quadrant = 6, lower left quadrant = 7, lower left right quadrant = 8). For example, the maxillary right canine receives the number ‘53’ since it’s located in quadrant 5 and is the 3rd tooth working mesial to distal.
