Dural venous sinuses (Latin)

Dural venous sinuses (Latin)

The sinus caversnosus is a large venous plexus situated on either side of the sella turcica ossis sphenoidei. The sinus cavernosus drains blood from the v. ophtalmica superior and v. ophtalmica inferior, v. media superficialis cerebri and sinus sphenoparietalis. It is then drained by the sinus petrosus superior and sinus petrosus inferior that convey blood to the sinus transversus and subsequent vena jugularis interna.
