Cranial fossae (English)

The anterior cranial fossa is the anteriormost area of the cranial floor, formed by the orbital surface of the frontal bone, cribriform plate of the ethmoid bone, and part of the lesser wing of the sphenoid bone. The middle cranial fossa is composed of the body and greater wings of sphenoid bone, as well as the squama and anterior surface of the petrous part of temporal bone. The posterior cranial fossa is formed by the posterior surface of the petrous part of temporal bone and the occipital bone.
