Bony pelvis (anterior view) (English)

The bilateral ischiopubic rami form the pubic arch, the vertex of which is known as the subpubic angle. In the female pelvis, the subpubic angle measures around 90° (approximating to the angle between the widely extended thumb and index finger); in a male pelvis, it measures closer to 60° (approximate angle between abducted index and middle fingers).
