Arteries of the thoracic wall (Portuguese)

As principais artérias da parede torácica são as artérias torácica interna, intercostal anterior, intercostal posterior e subcostal. A artéria torácica interna emerge da artéria subclávia e se ramifica distalmente nas artérias musculofrênica e epigástrica superior. As artérias intercostais anteriores são um conjunto de nove artérias que vascularizam a parte anterior dos espaços intercostais entre a 1.ª e a 10.ª costelas. As seis artérias intercostais anteriores superiores têm origem na artéria torácica interna, enquanto que as restantes são ramos da artéria musculofrênica. As artérias intercostais posteriores são onze em número e vascularizam os espaços intercostais posteriores. As duas primeiras surgem da artéria intercostal suprema, enquanto que as restantes se originam da aorta torácica. Por fim, a artéria subcostal origina-se da aorta torácica e vasculariza a região subcostal inferiormente à 12.ª costela.
