Anterior view of the liver (Latin)

Anterior view of the liver (Latin)

From anterior perspective, aspects of the facies superior, anterior et dextra hepatis, which are collectively dome-shaped due to their contact with the overlying diaphragm, can be seen. All are covered mainly with peritoneum which is reflected superiorly as the pars anterior ligamenti coronarii, forming the area nuda hepatis posterior to it. The anterior covering of peritoneum meets its posterior counterpart at the upper right and left corners of the liver, forming the ligg. triangularia dextrum et sinistrum. The lobi dexter et sinister hepatis are separated by the lig. falciforme, whose inferior margin encloses the lig. teres hepatis.
