Stomach in situ (Latin)

Stomach in situ (Latin)

The stomach (gaster) has a characteristic ‘J-shape’ created by two unequal curvatures: the longer, convex curvatura major gastris (located on the left side) and the shorter, concave curvatura minor gastris (on the right). Between the curvatures, the four main parts of the stomach are visible: cardia, fundus, body (corpus) and the pars pylorica. Anterior relations of the stomach are not fully visible in the illustration however they include the diaphragm, lobus sinister hepatis (retracted), and the paries anterior abdominis.
