Nerves of the intercostal space (Latin)

The nn. intercostales originate as the rr. anteriores of the nervi spinales T1-T11. Each gives rise to rr. cutanei laterales and end anteriorly as r. cutaneus anterior nervi intercostalis. In addition to these major branches, small rami collaterales can be found in the intercostal space running along the superior border of the lower rib.
