The artt. pedis are supported by several ligg. plantaria, dorsalia et interossea. From this lateral perspective, several notable ligaments can be identified:The ligg. talocalcanea laterale, anterius et interossea provide support to the art. subtalaris joint, while dorsally, the art. transversa tarsi is supported by the lig. calcaneonaviculare and lig. calcaneocuboidea (which collectively are referred to as the lig. bifurcatum) as well as the lig. talonaviculare and lig. calcaneocuboidea dorsale. Several additional ligaments can be seen supporting the dorsal aspect of the joints of the midfoot and artt. tarsometatarseae.
