Hip joint (Latin)

Hip joint (Latin)

The articulatio coxae has several ligaments that play an important role in stabilizing the joint during various movements. The ligaments of the articulatio coxae are divided into two groups: ligg. capsularia and ligg.intracapsularia. The ligg. capsularia reinforce the capsula articularis and include the lig. iliofemorale, lig. pubofemorale and lig. ischiofemorale. The ligg. intracapsularia are situated inside of the joint capsule and include the lig. transversum acetabuli and the lig. capitis femoris.
