Common tendinous ring: Structure and neurovasculature (Latin)

The anulus tendineus communis is a fibrous tissue that serves as a common origin for the four mm. recti. It encircles the inferolateral part of the fissura orbitalis superior and surrounds the r. superior nervi oculomotorii (CN III), n. nasociliaris, n. abducens (VI) and the r. inferior nervi oculomotorii (CN III) as they pass through the fissura orbitalis superior.
