Cardiovascular system: Arteries of the upper part of the body (English)

All systemic arteries stem from the largest artery in the body, the aorta, which arises from the left ventricle of the heart. The arterial supply to the head and neck comes from the right and left common carotid arteries, although the subclavian arteries, which supply the upper limb, provide contributions as well. The blood supply to the chest wall and thoracic organs is largely derived from branches the thoracic aorta, however, once again the subclavian arteries also provide contribution.
