The bilateral rami ischiopubici form the arcus pubicus, the vertex of which is known as the angulus subpubicus. In the pelvis feminina, the angulus subpubicus measures around 90° (approximating to the angle between the widely extended thumb and index finger); in a pelvis masculina, it measures closer to 60° (approximate angle between abducted index and middle fingers).
