Veins of the arm and the shoulder - Posterior view (Latin)

Deep veins of the upper limb, such as the vv. brachiales, v. axillaris and v. subclavia, transport deoxygenated blood to the vena cava superior. The paired vv. brachiales along with their tributaries, the veins of the forearm, empty into the v. axillaris which in turn conveys the majority of blood from the arm (brachium) and shoulder (omos). The v. circumflexa anterior humeri and v. circumflexa posterior humeri accompany their arterial counterparts, passing anterior to the collum chirurgicum humeri to enter the v. axillaris. In the scapular region, accompanying veins of the arteries contributing to the rete scapulae equally form a rich plexus venosus to drain the scapular and shoulder region.
