Main nerves of the lower limb - posterior (Latin)
The main nerve branch of the plexus sacralis is the nervus ischiadicus. This is the longest nerve in your body supplying the entire skin of the crus, and muscles of the regio posterior femoris, crus and pes. At its terminal end, the nervus ischiadicus divides into the nervus tibialis and nervus fibularis communis, which go on to supply the posterior and anterolateral compartments of the crus, respectively.
