Main arteries of the lower limb (Latin)
Main arteries of the lower limb (Latin)
The main arteria supplying the regio coxalis and femoris is the arteria femoralis. Soon after its origin, the arteria femoralis gives off the arteria profunda femoris to supply the deep structures of the femur. The arteria femoralis continues into the fossa poplitea to become the arteria poplitea, which supplies the regio genualis. After a short course, the arteria poplitea terminates as the arteriae tibiales anteriores and posteriores, which go on to supply the regiones anteriores and posterolaterales cruris, respectively.
