Female body surface anatomy - Posterior (Latin)
The bony landmarks seen from the posterior surface include the landmarks of the bones of the trunk (parts of the scapulae, processus spinosus vertebrae T7 and spina iliaca), olecranon ulnae located in the extremitas superior, and bony structures of the extremitas inferior that include the malleolus fibularis, malleolus tibiae and calcaneus. The soft tissue landmarks of the upper part of the body include the m. trapezius and m. triceps brachii, while the inferior part includes the hamstring muscles and m. triceps surae. In addition, there are two creases that demarcate the regio glutealis including the crena interglutea (groove between the buttocks) and sulcus gluteus (formed by the inferior aspect of the buttocks and the posterior upper thigh).
