Cardiovascular system: Veins of the upper part of the body (Latin)
The venous blood from the head and neck are drained by the v. jugularis interna and externa. These veins meet with the v. subclavia, which drains the blood from the upper limb and thorax, to form the v. brachiocephalica on each side. In turn, the v. brachiocephalica sinistra and dextra merge to form the vena cava superior, which empties into the atrium dextrum.
