Posterior view of the liver (English)
Posterior view of the liver (English)
The posterior surface of the liver is largely attached to the diaphragm at the bare area; this is surrounded by the anterior and posterior parts of the coronary ligament which merge to the left and right as the triangular ligaments of the liver. In the center of the bare area are the right, middle and left hepatic veins. The caudate lobe is limited by the posterior part of coronary ligament, fissure for ligamentum venosum and porta hepatis. The left lobe carries an impression of the stomach, while to the right of the gallbladder are additional impressions of the suprarenal gland and kidney.
