Main veins of the lower limb (Latin)
Main veins of the lower limb (Latin)
The venae membri inferioris form two interconnected venous networks; superficial and deep. The venae superficiales are the arcus venosus dorsalis, vena saphena parva and vena saphena magna. The venae profundae are the venae tibiales anteriores, tibiales posteriores, fibulares, poplitea, profunda femoris and femoralis. All lower limbs veins eventually drain into the vena iliaca externa and then via the vena iliaca communis into the vena cava inferior. The vena cava inferior empties into the atrium dexter of the cor.
