Main nerves of the lower limb - anterior (Latin)
The main nerve of the anterior thigh is the nervus femoralis. It originates from the plexus lumbalis and extends to the genu, supplying motor innervation to muscles along its path. The second major nerve is the nervus saphenus. This is the largest branch of the nervus femoralis and extends down the medial aspect of the limb, supplying sensory innervation to the genu, crus and pes.
