Urine enters the pars intramuralis urethrae through the sphincter internus urethrae and is transported towards the ostium externum urethrae at the end of the glans penis. Prostatic fluid enters the pars prostatica urethrae via the ductuli prostatici and semen from the testes via the ostium ductus ejaculatorii. Glandula bulbourethralis secrete lubricating mucus into the pars spongiosa urethrae just proximal to the ampullaris and fossa navicularis urethrae.
