Midsagittal skull (with septum) (Latin)

This section allows the appreciation of the structure of the bony septum nasi, which is composed of the lamina perpendicularis ossis ethmoidalis and vomer joining the maxilla and os palatinum. The latter two bones are seen comprising the floor of the cavitas nasi, separating it from the cavitas oris. At the roof of the cavitas nasi there is the os ethmoidale which encloses it towards the fossa cranii anterior. Below, there is a hollow cavity which represents the sinus sphenoideus.
